a TASTE of ZEN PRACTICE

Friday, February 23 from 6-7:30 pm

A special transmission outside the scriptures;
No dependence on words and letters;
Direct pointing to the mind of man;
Seeing into one's nature and attaining Buddhahood.

Join us for an opportunity to learn about Zen practice with visiting Soto Zen Priest Jiryu Rutschman-Byler. This evening will include teachings shared by Jiryu and some short meditations. 


COST: By donation. This evening program is offered on the basis of dana, a practice of mutual generosity that has been alive since the time of the Buddha. There will be an opportunity to offer a donation to the teacher.

VENUE: Durango Dharma Center, 1800 East 3rd Avenue, Suite 109

ABOUT THE TEACHER: Jiryu is a Soto Zen Buddhist priest and teacher in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. He lives and teaches at Green Gulch Farm, a zen center just north of San Francisco. He is also the head teacher of the Buddhadharma Sangha of San Quentin Prison.
