OUR SANGHA

The Durango Dharma Center was formed in 1991 by a few individuals desiring support in their sitting practice. It has grown over the years and is now a Colorado non-profit corporation and a federal 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Sangha supports a variety of sitting groups, classes and retreats. The Sangha is Vipassana (Insight) oriented but welcomes a variety of meditators.

Currently the Durango Dharma Center business is managed by the Board of Directors consisting of Linda Barnes, Tecumseh Burnett,, Marlena DeCarion, Kate Errett, Judy Gerhardt, Barbara Klema (Bill Ball and Katherine Barr, CDLC Representatives)

Teaching guidance and programming is provided by the Community Dharma Leader Council(CDLC) consisting of Bill Ball, Katherine Barr, Bruce Cressman and Erin Treat.

MISSION STATEMENT

Durango Sangha is committed to providing support for meditators with a variety of orientations by offering regular retreats for Buddhist Vipassana meditationand fellowship of other meditators.

DIRECTIONS

The physical address of the Durango Dharma Center is 2530 Colorado Avenue. Drive east on Florida Rd from the 15th Street and East 3rd Avenue intersection past Chapman Hill and look for Colorado Avenue on your left (about a 1/2 mile). Turn left at Colorado Avenue and go 1/2 block. Look for prayer flags on the outside of building on your right.
