Wednesday, October 2, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, October 2, from 7 to 8 p.m., the Dharma Center will host the first meeting of its newly formed Alphabet kalyana mitta (spiritual friends) group. Co-facilitators Elisabeth Peterson, Robert Bridges, and Molly Gierasch, along with mentor Katherine Barr, have come together with the desire and intent to support folks who experience the world through the lenses of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and non-binary identities.
We honor all of the diverse and beautiful ways we humans practice and express our need to love and be loved, to be happy, to be safe, and to hold ourselves and each other with compassion and kindness.
We are reaching out to the Durango Dharma Center sangha to invite all folks who claim an LGBTQI identity to join us in building a safe sanctuary in which we can practice sitting meditation, share our stories, and discuss how the Dharma shows up in our lives.
We also hope to explore ways to take our practice off the cushion and become engaged in social justice issues of concern to us rainbow people.
DATE: October 2nd, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
VENUE: Meditation Hall, Durango Dharma Center, 1800 E. 3rd Ave., Durango, CO
