The term Kalyana Mitta is a Pali word meaning "spiritual friend". A Kalyana Mitta group, or support group, is a group of people who are coming together around a particular topic, gender, age group or common experience to inquire more deeply as a group, share experiences and practice together. A Kalyana Mitta Group is generally peer-led with facilitators chosen by the group; and the content and tone of the group set by group consensus. Kalyana Mitta groups are mentored by a member of the Dharma Council.
The Mindfulness-Based 12 Step Group is an open gathering blending Mindfulness and The 12 Steps as resource tools for developing healthy relationships with ourselves and all other people, places, and things.
Time: 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays AND 4:30 - 5:30 pm on Sundays.
The group is open to all spiritual friends, 60 years or older, with an interest in learning and contributing to discussions about the Three Heavenly Messengers of aging, illness and death and other useful age-related topics.
Time: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m., 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. There are no meetings in August.
Our Mid Gen group is open to anyone who identifies as being “midlife,” regardless of specific age. (If you feel too old for Next Gen and too young for Sen Gen, Mid Gen is for you!) This group practices a brief sitting meditation followed by explorations of spiritual practice and navigating this unique stage of life. Each meeting begins with a different topic or theme. For more information or to join the Mid Gen email list, please contact Jeanne Pastore at firstname.lastname@example.org. Time: First and Third Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
This group for people in their 20s and 30s (give or take a few years) includes a sitting meditation, reflection, and sharing. We meet the 2nd Tuesdays of the month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Time: 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., 2nd Tuesdays of the month.
The family program is open to all who engage with children. In support of families, we offer regularly scheduled events that incorporate mindfulness and mindful living for both parents and children. We also offer conscious parenting classes taught by Maureen Fallon-Cyr. (The next class will start in June of 2019.) Anyone who has children in their lives is welcome, so we encourage grandparents, teachers, aunts, uncles, and others to participate. The next gathering will be on Saturday, April 20 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. There will be an opportunity to participate in mindfulness activities with a nature theme in honor of Earth Day. (We'll be outside, weather permitting.) This offering is appropriate for all ages and is designed to nourish our connections with ourselves, each other, and the earth. To RSVP for the event, please email Amie Bryant at email@example.com. For more information about the group and to sign up for updates, please contact Erika Berglund at firstname.lastname@example.org.
