The term Kalyana Mitta is a Pali word meaning "spiritual friend". A Kalyana Mitta group, or support group, is a group of people who are coming together around a particular topic, gender, age group or common experience to inquire more deeply as a group, share experiences and practice together. A Kalyana Mitta Group is generally peer-led with facilitators chosen by the group; and the content and tone of the group set by group consensus. Kalyana Mitta groups are mentored by a member of the Dharma Council.
The Mindfulness-Based 12 Step Group is an open gathering blending Mindfulness and The 12 Steps as resource tools for developing healthy relationships with ourselves and all other people, places, and things.
Time: 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays AND 4:30 - 5:30 pm on Sundays.
The group is open to all spiritual friends, 60 years or older, with an interest in learning and contributing to discussions about the Three Heavenly Messengers of aging, illness and death and other useful age-related topics.
Time: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m., 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. There are no meetings in August.

We will be exploring meditation, calming our minds and discussing new ways to engage children that support ourselves, our children’s development and our peace of mind! The group will be using Patty Whipfler’s new book, Listen, a breakthrough in child rearing based on the latest brain studies for children.
