GIVING OURSELVES PERMISSION TO SOFTEN
A DAYLONG RETREAT WITH KATHERINE BARR
Saturday, December 15 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
This daylong retreat is an opportunity to allow all the "have-tos, supposed-tos and ought-tos" to fade and gently cultivate the courage to be open and present. In a moment of presence, there is freedom. Away from our usual busyness and obligations, there is an invitation, as Rabbi Rami Shapiro says, “to put down all you know, to set aside your story and live from what remains."
Through sitting and walking meditation, short dharma talks and the preciousness of silence, we will have the opportunity to ground, soften and widen with beginner’s mind.
This daylong retreat is suitable for new and experienced meditation practitioners. All are welcome.
COST: The cost of the retreat is on a sliding scale of $25-$45. Scholarships are readily available. You may choose to pay $12 or $0 through our online system. If you wish to pay another amount, please contact Terry Leonard at firstname.lastname@example.org or 970-799-0084. We invite you to pay at the highest level you can afford so that all who seek the teachings may participate.
Registration fees support the Durango Dharma Center. This retreat is offered on the basis of dana, a practice of mutual generosity that has been alive since the time of the Buddha. At the end of the retreat there will be an opportunity to offer a donation to Katherine Barr.
