cultivating active hope

the work that reconnects

Saturday, August 3rd from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

"The central purpose of the Work that Reconnects is to help people uncover and experience their innate connections with each other and with the systemic, self-healing powers of the web of life, so that they may be enlivened and motivated to play their part in creating a sustainable civilization."

 – Joanna Macy

In these days of climate chaos, species extinction, and ecological and social suffering, it's natural to feel despair and overwhelm. Let us come together to compost the grief, anger, and fear that we feel and transform it into love, compassion, and motivation on behalf of a thriving planet. Let us deepen our well of personal and collective resilience and cultivate active hope for our time.

The Work That Reconnects is an experiential workshop that builds creativity, courage, and solidarity for a more enlivening human culture. With new eyes, we will find ways to embody, as activist Charles Eisenstein would say, "the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible."

Please wear comfortable clothing for some gentle movement activities and bring a notebook and something to write with.

COST: The cost of the retreat is on a sliding scale of $25-$45. Scholarships are readily available. You may choose to pay $12 or $0 through our online system. If you wish to pay another amount, please contact Terry Leonard at 50tleonard@gmail.com or 970-799-0084. We invite you to pay at the highest level you can afford so that all who seek the teachings may participate.

Registration fees support the Durango Dharma Center. This retreat is offered on the basis of dana, a practice of mutual generosity that has been alive since the time of the Buddha. At the end of the retreat there will be an opportunity to offer a donation to Della Z Duncan.
